“As a college student I felt the show was invaluable. As a woman, this show changed my life.”
–Opal L. Peachey, Student
Cornish College of the Arts
Carole Groobman, mother, grandmother, actress, storyteller and postpartum doula, graduated cum laude with a BFA in Acting from Cornish College of the Arts in 1998. Previously a single mom, she worked as an Artist-in-Education, conducted creative workshops for adults and performed as a storyteller and singer throughout the Northwest. In Lincoln County, Oregon, Carole produced and hosted a children's radio program.
In the fall of 1998, Carole received doula training and certification from Seattle Midwifery School and began her business, Caregiving Postpartum Doula Service. Inspired—and sometimes dismayed—by her clients' birthing stories, she began the five-year process of creating Force of Nature.
